What did you do?
- This week we focused on mental exercise. We combined the activities from the previous weeks, with daily brain stimulating puzzles, that must be completed each day. At the end of this week Grace also completed a stress, anxiety and depression test (Source 10) as a lead in to the trial weeks.
How did it go?
- It went okay, however for the first two days of this week Grace was unable to do the puzzles due to lack of time. But she was still able to do the 7 puzzles over the remaining 5 days. She also did really well in completing the previous weeks activities getting an average of 9 hours of sleep each night and did 7 hours of exercise this week.
What were the test results?
- The stress, anxiety and depression test (SAD test) we took this week, is a way of measuring what impacts the week 4 and 5 activities will have. For the first criteria, Depression, Grace had 3 points, which is a very low score, the normal being 9. On the second criteria, Anxiety, she had 8 points, which is just 1 over the normal. On the final criteria, Stress, Grace had 20 points which is a moderate score, 6 above normal. In the next two weeks we will be using the test to see how effective each of the activities are and to measure the levels of success gained. Our goal for the remainder of the intervention is to bring Grace’s Stress score down to the normal, a reduction of 6 points

How did you feel?
- I was a bit worried at the start of the week that it would completely fall through, but when it picked up towards the end of the week I was feeling pretty good.
How was the client feeling? Client feedback
- I was feeling a bit panicy this week as I was falling behind on my work and as a result was unable to complete the activities for the first two days of this week. However I tried my best in the remainder of the week to catch up on the activities I missed. This week I again felt like there was too much to do and not enough time to do it so i have suggested that as a part of my intervention I would like to start planning out my week so I have structured times in which to get all my work done as well as completing my exercise quota and having a good amount of down time.
- Grace
Was it successful? Why?
- It started slowly, at the start of this week that Grace was unable to complete the intervention’s activities and that in turn it would go really badly. But, midweek it picked up and the week ended on a high note.
What changes need to occur?
- Not much needs to be changed from this week, however it would be good to get data on what kinds of puzzles grace is completing and how long she takes to do them. We will also be adding weekly planning days, as suggested by Grace in which she will set out her week so she can comfortably get her work done, without the stress of finding time to do it.
